Privacy Policy - 3atariq

3atariq ("we", "us", "the app") is a peer-to-peer platform that connects people in Lebanon who are travelling between places with people who need items delivered or errands done along the way. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using 3atariq, you agree to this policy.

3atariq is a matching platform only. We do not process payments, and we are not a party to any arrangement between users.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the profile information you provide: your display name, profile photo, optional bio, optional gender selection, and optional vehicle details (model, colour, photo). A profile photo is required to post, except for users who select "female" or "prefer not to say" and choose the no-photo option.

Posts you create. When you post a trip or a request, we collect the details you enter: the towns/areas you select (start, destination, and any stops), optional dates and times, a description, and any item details or photos you add. Town/area selections are used to match trips and requests.

Messages. When you chat with another user, we store your messages so the conversation can be delivered and displayed. Messages are visible only to the two participants. You are never required to share your phone number; sharing contact details is optional and within your control.

Reviews and ratings. Reviews and star ratings you give or receive are stored and shown publicly on user profiles.

Safety records. To support accountability and safety in a platform where people meet, we may keep a limited internal record indicating that two users connected or confirmed travelling together for a given trip, along with the time. These records are kept only for a limited period and are not shown publicly.

Optional location. Location is provided by you selecting named towns/areas; we do not require continuous GPS tracking. If you choose to attach an approximate location point to a post, it is stored privately and shown only within the relevant chat - never on the public feed. Your precise location is never made public.

Device and technical information. We collect device tokens to send you notifications, and basic technical/diagnostic information to keep the app working and to detect abuse.

Usage analytics and error reports. We use privacy-conscious analytics and crash reporting to improve the app. These are configured to exclude personal identifiers, message content, and precise location.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to: create and manage your account; match trips and requests by area; enable chat between users; display profiles, reviews, and ratings; send notifications; maintain safety, moderation, and abuse-prevention (including block, report, and the safety records above); operate, secure, and improve the app; and comply with legal obligations.

3. How information is shared

  • With other users: your display name, profile photo, bio, vehicle details (if added), reviews/ratings, and your posts are visible to other users. Your messages are visible only to the person you are chatting with.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising inside the app.
  • Service providers: we use trusted providers to run the app (for example, hosting/database, email delivery, notifications, analytics, and error reporting). They process data only to provide these services.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, or where reasonably necessary to investigate, prevent, or address fraud, safety, security, or abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

4. Payments

3atariq does not process payments. Any fee or arrangement between a traveller and a requester is agreed and handled directly between those users, outside the app. We do not collect or store payment information.

5. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time, edit or delete your own posts and reviews, block other users, and report content or users. You may request deletion of your account; on deletion we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain limited information for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons. You can control notification permissions in your device settings.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. Safety records are retained only for a limited period and then deleted. We may retain certain information longer where required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.

7. Children

3atariq is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, please contact us.

8. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including access controls enforced at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
